Singer 111W upholstery sewing machine

Singer 111W (www.cowboysew.com/Service.htm) series compound needle feed, walking foot upholstery sewing machine was a workhorse in medium to heavy weight sewing applications.

It has 4 different versions: Singer 111W152 is a single needle, lockstitch, compound feed machine with a vertical axis hook, and alternating pressers have 3/8 lift. It has a safety clutch which prevents the hook from being damaged or getting out of time due to accidental strain.

The maximum stitch length is 5 to the inch. The machine is used for stitching light leather work such as leather gloves. Singer 111W153 is similar to Singer 111W152 but is used for heavy work, such as automobile and furniture upholstery, tents, awnings and leather coats. Singer 111W154 is similar to Singer 111W152 but its alternating pressers have a lift of 1/2 inch and the machine is designed for stitching upholstery work, leather coats, buff wheels and binding heavy felt padding. Singer 111W155 is similar to Singer 111W154 except that its maximum stitch length is 3-1/2 to the inch and it has an adjustable lifting eccentric to instantly set the alternating pressers to the minimum amount of lift required for the work to be sewn.

This machine and Singer 221W industrial sewing machine and subsequent Juki LU-562 & Juki LU-563 have been stop production very long time ago. If you need spare hook, please contact cowboysew.com. and if you need a modern machine as replacement, you can consider COWBOY #74400 &74420. Sail maker sewing machines

The zigzag sewing machine is the most used stitch in sail making. It has several advantages: it can over sew an edge to prevent fraying, the stitch configuration is somewhat elastic, and it can be taken out easily with a seam ripper. Most important, the holes in the cloth are not so close together as in a straight line, and thus are less prone to tearing.

Industrial grade zigzag machines have different names used by sail makers and machines suppliers: Sail making machine Sail sewing machine Sail repair sewing Machine Heavy duty zigzag sewing machine for sail corner reinforcement Sewing machine for ring & webbing corner patch Spinnakers sewing machine Windsurf sails sewing machine Heavy duty long arm zigzag sewing machine for sail makers and repairs

Extra heavy duty zigzag lockstitch sewing machine High and long arm heavy duty zigzag sail making machine Long arm heavy duty zigzag for sail making and repair Heavy duty triple zigzag sail sewing machine Heavy duty walking foot zigzag sewing machine Long arm medium weight zigzag sewing machine 3-step zigzag lockstitch sewing machine with puller Sail making sewing machine Sail maker sewing machine Long arm zigzag machine for the sail makers Long arm machine for sewing spinnaker sails and surf sails Long arm zigzag machine for sewing large-surface sails Here are some typical zigzag models that widely used in sail loft: Singer 107W1 or 107W3, it will take from #30 to #138 thread, and stopped production maybe hundred years ago. This machine can be set up to sew anything from 1/2-ounce spinnaker nylon with #30 thread to 14 layers of 9-ounce Dacron cloth with #138 thread! Bernina 217 is another machine for high cost and quality comparable to the Pfaff 138. It sews best up through #92 thread with a #120 needle and is capable of, but not preferable for 9-ounce-and-up work. Adler 166-1, an ideal heavy duty zigzag sewing machine for a small one man loft this is sufficient for big sails and corner reinforcement. Adler 266-1, which sews with thread sizes of #138 and up. For large sails, thick corners, and storm sails, it is ideal. All above machines have been out production long time ago. You cannot find them (even used one) in the market.

Best saddle and harness sewing machine

CowBoy CB4500 heavy duty leather sewing machine for saddle, harness and horse tack

The manufacture of harness and saddle equipment (http://www.automatic-sewing.com/leather-sewing-machine-for-saddlery.htm) requires that you obtain the correct machine in order to create the desired stitching. The two most common type of Harness stitchers are the needle and awl type and the threaded needle type depending on how thick the goods are and how experienced the operator is. Most people believe that the threaded needle type is easier for beginners to use.

COWBOY industrial sewing machines are built as tough as tanks and are capable of sewing thick leather, cloth, webbing, bioplastic and other materials, with heavy thread. The COWBOY CB4500 extra heavy duty thick thread cylinder bed walking foot and compound feed sewing machine (www.cowboysew.com/product1.htm), SEWS SADDLE AND HARNESS BETTER THAN ANY OTHER STITCHER BUILT TODAY!

This machine has become the standard in the saddle and harness industry. It has been widely used for stitching bullet loops, saddle skirts, headstalls, halters, breatstcollars, holsters, knife sheaths, chaps, knee pads, covered stirrups, gun belts, cases and other leather craft. The machine can also be used to stitch luggage, suitcases, heavy hand bags, heavy textile products, briefcases, and the like. It, is capable of sewing up to 7/8" of saddle leather, with up to #415 bonded nylon or polyester thread. This machine has outstanding capability in feeding multi-layers of heavy materials due to its compound feed mechanism.

The compound feed mechanism of this machine features a feed dog, walking foot, and needle feed that all work in unison to insure feeding of the most difficult materials with ease. It allows one to sew from 4 layers of 16 oz. harness leather down to thin chap material without needing to excessively adjust the sewing machine tensions. The presser foot lift is up to 23mm (7/8’’) for smooth placement/removal of extra heavy materials. Special flatbed tabletop attachment available that allows the cylinder arm sewing surface to be converted to a flat sewing surface to allow for better stitching with certain types of work.

Every new CB4500 purchase comes complete with a motor and table, choice of regular or harness makers’ presser feet, one standard throat plate and feed dog to match feet, and a swing-away roller edge guide. Also included are four bobbins and one pack of 10 needles (to match your preferred thread size). We offer an accessories package for an additional price, containing our raised and slotted throat plates, additional saddle makers’ presser feet and extra needles and thread. Juki TNU-243 type heavy weight industrial sewing machine

Juki TNU-243 type heavy weight industrial sewing machine
www.cowboysew.com

Flat bed leather sewing machines are found in custom leather shops and leather goods manufacturing plants around the world. These machines are used to sew flat pieces together, or to sew lining layers onto the back of leather belts and straps. Flat bed machines give better control when sewing large bulky panels, or broad straps.

The CowBoy (HIGHTEX) #7243 leather sewing machine is capable of sewing up to 7/8" of hard temper leather, man-made leather substitutes (like "BioThane®"), heavy nylon webbing, Kydex, and even nylon or plywood lined items, with up to #415 bonded nylon or polyester thread. This sewing machine is exactly interchangeable with Juki TNU-243 and similar to Seiko TH-8B.

The #7243 is based on the design of the "JUKI TSC-441" type machines. It has compound, triple feed, with smooth presser feet and feed dog (no teeth). The pressure spring is very strong and can easily hold down a full load of 7/8 inch of hard leather.

The #7243 has a bed length of 16.5 inches, inside the body, making it ideal for sewing large items, including large, Western style gun holsters, before they are shaped. It would also be a great machine for sewing briefcase panels together, with leather over plywood. This machine can also be used to sew auto upholstery in thicknesses that standard walking foot machines cannot handle.

Every new #7243 purchase comes complete with a powerful motor and a 3:1 speed reducer pulley, mounted under a thick wooden table, which is bolted onto a heavy duty k-legs steel frame. The speed reducer system provides tremendous punching power at very slow speeds. If you need to sew material that is not flat, or which has raised portions close to the edges, such as gun holsters, knife sheaths, handcuff pouches, ammo cases, saddle bags, etc, please check out our COWBOY cylinder arm sewing machines. These cylinder arm heavy leather sewing machines are available, like #7441(similar to JUKI TSC-441 and Seiko CH-8B) and #7205 (same to Durkopp Adler 205-370). All two of these large stitchers have compound, triple feed, with high lift and are capable of sewing up to 7/8 inches of leather, with a size 415 thread handling capacity.

COWBOY #7972 Patcher Sewing Machine

Patcher style leather sewing machines are found in every shoe repair shop in countries around the World. They are used to repair stitching and tears in shoe and boot uppers. These machines are unique in that they are fed entirely by the presser foot, which revolves in a full 360º circle. The COWBOY #7972 leather patcher(www.cowboysew.com/product1.htm) is capable of sewing up to 5/16" of light to medium temper leather, with up to #138 bonded nylon or polyester thread. It has a narrow cylinder arm of either 12 or 18 inches in length; making it ideal for sewing boots, round cases, bags, purses and hats. Patchers are extremely useful for sewing decorative patches onto garments, like leather vests. The bobbins and bobbin cases are very small, compared to a standard industrial sewing machine. They hold a lot less thread and are best suited to thinner grades of bonded nylon, such as #46, #69, or #92. This machine features a lube pot on top, and a Barney knob on the hand wheel. The hand wheel and bobbin winder can be moved from the back to the front of the machine.
Every new #7972 purchase comes complete with a gear reduction servo motor, mounted on an adjustable height pedestal work stand, with locking ball bearing castors. And belt safety cover is standard supplied as per CE regulation. Also included are four bobbins and one pack of 10 needles (to match your preferred thread size). The COWBOY #7972 has single, top feed, with teeth on the bottom of the foot. There is no feed dog on the bottom; just a smooth, double-ended plate with a small needle hole at one end and a larger needle hole at the other end. It is best suited for sewing non-markable chrome tanned/garment leather projects, or those where the tooth marks are not objectionable. The maximum clearance under the lifting presser foot is 3/8 inch, which allows you to actually sew about between 1/4" to 5/16" maximum. Also, the stitch length varies a bit with the thickness being sewn. Shoe patchers, like the COWBOY #7972 series, although typically used with #69 thread or smaller, can sew with up to #138 bonded nylon, or 3 cord cotton/linen thread.
